WtfImagine waiting more than 40 minutes to get through to their customer service??? Then imagine finding out they sent a $30K cheque by REGULAR mail (not courier, not even registered mail???), and you're just left hanging while your money sits in THEIR account making interest for over 2 weeks, and still waiting...! And of course there's nothing they can do, it's company policy, even in 2021, to send cheques by snail mail, AS IF that sounds normal or is even legal...more like FRAUD if you ask me! Shame on you, you're supposed to know the value of money (and the interest it can make!) as well as the value of customer satisfaction; fail, fail and fail!!! Very glad I closed my account with them now! account gaining interest

In September 2020 I received my auto insurance renewal notice. I noticed my premiums went up 8%. I felt this was unreasonable given the global pandemic. I was able to find cheaper insurance and informed Desjardins 6 weeks in advance of my cancelling my home and auto policies. Desjardins charged my $84.30 as a cancellation fee for my home owners policy. This represents more than one months premium. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

We were with State Farm Insurance for over 20 years, then Desjardins came along and jacked up our prices by more than double in a matter of a year. No rhyme or reason, we have no tickets or accidents for many years now. Every time we would put our car on park, when we came back off park they would hike the premium again endlessly. Also, if that wasn't enough they managed to put my husband on the wrong vehicle as a driver just to squeeze out more money, if he would get into an accident on the vehicle that he was supposed to be on, they would never have covered him as per their mistake. Also, they kept charging for an umbrella policy for 4 cars, when we only had 3 cars and said that it didn't matter how many cars were being charged as per their yearly fee. The worst possible insurance company out there, State Farm was amazing and now they are gone, miss them dearly. Now we have these leeches Desjardins to deal with. Anyways, we will now gladly pay the cancellation fee to get away from these bloodsuckers as soon as possible, and so should you!

Desjardins - Crooked employees!
Updated by user Feb 01, 2020

Ashley Cochran tried to damage our company ... but she failed and failed miserably.

She's the joke of 2019.

2020... no time for this cockroach.

Original review Sep 05, 2019
First, this note deals with Mrs. Ashley Cochran of Hills Insurance Agency, Inc.

in Moncton, New Brunswick. She's the office manager. With that ...
On July 22nd, an individual brought his hard drive in for repair. I own DanTek Solutions in Moncton, New Brunswick.

I estimated a short period of time on the drive but was later told it would take a donor drive so I handed that drive over to a hardware technician. The time frame was much longer than I anticipated, unfortunately.
This past Tuesday (September 3rd) I was contacted by the customer’s wife, Ashley Cochran, an employee of Dejardins Insurance. She wrote:
“Hi Dan, this is Ashley Cochran. I apologize but we will have to pick up the hard drive tomorrow.

We know you may have replaced a part on it and we will pay you for your service but we need the drive back right away. I appreciate your time. What would be the best time to pick it up?”
My response was: “No problem at all; I will have it tomorrow for you. Just spoke with Luke ”
Her next reply: “Thank you very much.

Again, I apologize. I appreciate it very much.”
Drive was given back “exactly” as it was received so as not to cause any financial loss to customer. Customer did, afterall, request drive back … finished or not, as indicated in her texts twice. Unfortunately, the time frame of just over a month was frustrating her and rightly so.

Thus, I had drive returned to her immediately, unfinished as she had requested (see above).
On Wednesday evening (September 4th), Ashley Cochran left a 1 star review for service she asked to be canceled. She then went on a rant, stating our company posted fake reviews and demanded an answer. As there are three individuals who manage the account, it would take time to (1) see if her claims were accurate and (2) respond once an internal review was completed.
In a show of good faith, I offered to pay for any recovery fees she would incur elsewhere. She accepted but THEN went on another rant this morning (September 5th) at which point I consulted with the RCMP and was advised to ask her not to communicate with us again and to record each time she did for future possible legal intervention due to harassment.

On September 5th I sent an email asking her to stop communicating immediately as I was advised to do.
Ashley Cochran would remove review for approximately $1000.00 as stated in our text correspondence. This is part of the communication:
Me: “Well, as this went south quite quickly on both ends, I’d prefer to draw up a contract which would benefit both you and I. Is that acceptable?”
Ashley: “I will agree to that. You draw it up, I will review it to determine if I feel it's acceptable and if anything should be adjusted.”
Me: “Ok will do.

In the meantime, will you remove review? And when will you be receiving drive back so I have an idea?”
Ashley: “I will remove when we come to an agreement.”
Granted, I did offer as I felt I had no other recourse as her libelous review financially harmed my business. I received counsel on the texts and was told to immediately stop communicating; that this was unethical and I obliged in asking her to stop communicating with me.
Why am I posting this? I am outraged that you work with such individuals.

While we all have our own version of events, it’s beyond reprehensible that a so-called “professional” would engage in malicious libel and what appears to have gone into the area of extortion. Perhaps not … perhaps so. One thing “is” certain: receiving $1000.00 to remove a negative review is certainly unethical.
Mrs. Cochran and I became heated in our exchanges.

She continued to blame my company for not retrieving her data that she brought in “because” of a hard drive failure. We simply couldn’t get it back; plain and simple. She became so infuriated that she then began to engage in libel and defamatory statements, without merit. Her opinion isn’t valid; evidence backed by solid data is valid.

Claims are one thing; showing evidence is quite another. She made the ridiculous claim that we had false positive reviews. If this is correct, Mrs. Cochran posted these “false reviews” and libeled my company.

I have yet to have seen a single review that was false. Her claim is nonsense but has also harmed our business financially.
At the end of the day, we did nothing to her drive, either positive OR negative. We simply couldn’t extract the data … and she wasn’t charged a cent. We reversed our work once she requested drive back and returned it exactly as it was provided to us.
Your firm represents professionalism.

If Mrs. Cochran has engaged in this conduct with me… is this her conduct in the office where she represents Desjardins? Have others been taken advantage of unknowingly? I would encourage you to investigate Ashley Cochran’s interactions with anyone she’s dealt with financially.
I refuse to pay for a negative review to be removed; especially a review based on libel and unsubstantiated claims of false reviews, unprofessionalism, etc.

I was fearful and felt backed into a corner but after receiving counsel, I no longer feel this way. Her maliciousness has been relentless and I am asking you to ensure that such behavior does not occur with those who trust you with their insurance needs, etc. I will be following up with you in the coming weeks as well as writing to head office as while you may feel this is a “personal” matter, I believe it’s a matter directly related to her character and to her dealing with customers.

I would hate to learn in the future that others were approached in the same manner that we were. If these are the types of individuals who represent your company… people need to know and be aware!

Always has been. She'll never change :(

Don't know either of these people but an employee's conduct reflects the employer. If this is true then I think her employer should look into who he's hiring. Just my opinion though.

Worst customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have 2 cars and 2 houses under their insurance, took a financing card from BEST BUY under DESJARDINS, just before the pandemic get a TV finance for 3yrs, my understanding from the store was that I was to make my payments any way I can as long all payments are in before the 3 yrs come to an end, which i have been doing, sometime I did pay more, doing the heat of the pandemic according to DESJARDINS I miss 2 payment and now my credit record is on the down full, I when and pay more than I due but for the pass 2 months after my payment was make they are still going after my credit score and record, for less than $250 my credit score i build is now being damage

Can wait to pay their balance and cancel everything of mine from DESJARDINS, they have bad customer service and no one should sign up with DESJARDINS, they will try all they can to damage you even at a time like this. DESJARDINS things for damaging my credit score in 2 months, something i have work hard keeping it up for the pass 10yrs. If I have to pay hard to more respectful insurance group I will but not to DESJARDINS that is doing all they can't to damage me.

Beware of desjardins

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

BEWARE OF DESJARDINS INSURANCE

I dont post very often, but Im super pissed!

Desjardins recently advised us that they would not be insuring our new house build anymore because IT IS TAKING TOO LONG It is a larger custom home that has taken 2 years so far, with 5 months more to go Not unreasonable for the size of this project

This has put me into a real predicament, as insurance companies generally will not insure residential properties mid-construction, only at the beginning We found one that will, but at a crazy premium of $30,000 per year vs $5,580 that we were paying Desjardin since the beginning and we have no choice but to do it

At no point did Desjardins ever advise us that there was a time limit to the policy until they sent us a notice of non-renewal and when we ask them why we were not told this at the beginning of the policy, no one responds Where is the time limit written in our policy? No one responds

There seems to be no consumer protection against shady insurance companies who pull stunts like this There have been no problems on the job site, no accidents, no claims, no financial issues, no nothing... We have always paid our bills on time... We have been, for all intensive purposes, the perfect customer...

I hope Desjardins fries in *** Such dishonest crooks and cheats... Shame on them!

Im cancelling any remaining policies with them, and I hope others will too. As there is no consumer protection (other than auto), they can cancel your policy just like that too This is not acceptable!ware eebe

Please STAY AWAY...... They are the worst thing that can ever happened to a person. They trick you into paying for what you are purchasing but in fact, they stole the money and put it on a credit card that you have never seen, therefore every time you pay for your purchase, you are paying Desjardins a credit card that you have never used.

So, I get notice that an employee stole personal information of customers and Desjardins will pay for Equifax protection. Sure they will!! Letter from Desjardins is dated May 28, 2020 and is received June 15, 2020. In order to proceed with the Equifax protection Desjardins will mail the information to you?!?! How long will that take?? How long did this former employee have the stolen personal information? Customer service and protection is not this company's strength!

Customer Service is not their middle name. Absolutely horrible in their attitude. In 2018, we obtained appliance financing through BRICK. We received monthly email payment notices from Mid 2018 to May 2019 which we kept paying up to date. They stopped sending email notices afterwards and 4 months later send a paper notice with huge interest charges. We talked to them that the interest charges were not justified because the lack of communication was at their end. Their agents are trained not to listen and be rude. Regardless in Oct 2019 we not only paid the previous balance but also paid the next dozen instalments in advance because we did not wish to deal with them. They put us on a credit card default. We called them up and asked them to correct our credit bureau but the moron on the line doesn't seem to have any common sense. I will shortly be moving the matter to court and claiming damages.

Rude customer service rep

I was checking if we still owe them money as we have not been receiving statements for almost 7 months, despite that we paid our monthy dues. As i am handling our finances for the household, my husband who is the account holder doesnt know much about the details. The representative refused to talk to me and asked for my husband, of course i have to feed him information. I dont know if that made her pissed. But i was certainly more pissed with her attitude and just wanted to finish the call. She said our address in their system is wrong that' s why we are not receiving their statements. I asked her what address they have and she mentioned our exact address and said that she will have it corrected. What is there to correct anyways? I don't know what that lady is going through but that doesn't give her the right to be rude. Her tone was as if she is interrogating a criminal. That was a supposedly simple transaction caused my blood boiling. We won't be doing business with them.
